Recent corona virus outbreaks around the world has originated fresh interest for studying the history of pandemics and epidemics throughout the world and its impact on human civilization. Present webinar intends to provide historical information about the significant epidemics and pandemics which haunted in Bengal during modern times. Simultaneously the aim of this webinar is to introduce audience to larger historiographical issues and in so doing to contribute, on a more theoretical level to discuss about the methods and scope of History of medicine. In this sense, the theme are approached as questions rather than fixed conceptual anchors.
